Mentor (London, Various, Optivo)
We are looking for volunteers who want to offer their spare time to mentor our over 50’s residents, have a cup of tea with them and provide a good listening ear. This role would suit someone outgoing and friendly.
You must be able to commit to volunteer between 2-3 days per week over 3-4 months.
The mentor volunteers must also be over 50 to be eligible to volunteer.
Mentors will offer their own time to support an over 50s beneficiary with their wellbeing whilst establishing trust to improve their circumstances.
The mentor volunteer will talk them through available support and offer practical help in accessing the service they need by signposting and creating referrals to other supportive services.
The programme will help people aged 50+ back into employment, further learning and linking them to local services to tackle isolation, loneliness and low levels of confidence.

Good listening and communication skills, these are essential for this role.
Volunteers need to be confident, proactive and support residents.
